Development Stream (DS)

Development Stream (DS) is a subset of the House League Program, offering an enhanced opportunity for House League players who are looking for more development and an option to play more hockey with the potential to stream toward competitive hockey in the future. It is also ideal for house league players that are not ready to make the commitment of playing competitive hockey, but are looking for more than the house league program offers.

DS teams are generally anticipated at all levels. DS teams are permitted to play in a maximum of 3 tournaments and 8 exhibition games against other DS teams. The teams will practice on a regular basis and operate separately from the house teams. There are no league games for DS.

Players that play on a DS team must also be registered and fully participate in the house league program with players making their house team their first priority.

Parents are expected to pay approx. $250- $500 for team fees for a DS season. Tournaments are outside of the team budget, so players participating in the tournaments are responsible for their share of the entry fees. Any additional expenses are also the participant's responsibility (hotels, food etc.). The cost for the tryout is $25.00 and will be payable when registering. Evaluations/Tryouts for DS will take place at the beginning of November. Please check the GCGH website for updates on exact dates.
