Announcement: GCGH Name Change to East Ottawa Girls Hockey

We are excited to inform you that the Ontario Women's Hockey Association (OWHA) has officially approved our association's name change to the East Ottawa Girls Hockey Association. Along with this change, our teams will now be known as the East Ottawa Stars.

Over the past three decades, our association has grown significantly and evolved, drawing members from all wards east of downtown Ottawa. This name change reflects a more accurate representation of our members' geographic location and ensures instant recognition from out-of-town teams. Additionally, it mitigates the risk of our association's name becoming outdated due to the expanding boundaries of east Ottawa.

The most immediate impact of this change will be on our competitive division branding. To address this, the board has established a committee dedicated to expediting the branding of the new EO Stars uniforms. We aim to have the new look and feel ready for the 2024-25 season pending approvals and supplier capacity to fulfill orders. Further details will be provided as we progress through this process. There is no immediate impact on the EO Stars AA, House divisions or Lady Stars.
